"Bing" the 51st Air Police Mascot

Bing

He had lost his mother and father. Who knows if he had brother's and sister's. When we found Bing, the name we gave him, he was starving his stomach was vary large and one eye was out of it's socket. He seemed with out the will to live. The 51st Air Police Squadron took Bing to the hospital to see if something could be done to help him. This led to a lot of return visits for Bing, as they gave us instructions of what had to be done. First we had to find somewhere for Bing to live. The 51st Air Police had a gun room where we keep the extra weapons, it was always warm there, and the sergeant in charge said it was OK with him. After a few months of eating regularly he lost the large stomach but most of all he was going to receive a glass eye. By this time he was part of our outfit and stood in formations with us. As you can see we had him in uniform. Always first in the mess line and never bashful about giving orders to anyone. When I left K-13 the word was out that the sergeant from the gun room was going to adopt Bing? I have talked to one or two of the fellows since then and they heard the same thing.

Bing......I hope you are happy!!
